Biography

Mark Freel holds the RBC Financial Group Professorship in Entrepreneurship at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. He maintains a position as a professor of innovation entrepreneurship at Lancaster University Management School in the UK and is also a research fellow at the Lazaridis Institute, Wilfrid Laurier University. Mark moved to Canada in 2006 and has held faculty positions at various universities including Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Strathclyde, and Warwick. He has served in editorial roles for the Journal of Small Business Management and the International Small Business Journal and currently sits as an associate editor on the Entrepreneurship and Regional Development editorial advisory boards. Mark has consulted for government branches in Canada, the UK, and the EU on related issues.
