Biography

Dr. Mark E. Ginsburg is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center, serving as the Surgical Director of the Jo-Ann LeBuhn Center for Lung Diseases and the Associate Director of General Thoracic Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia. He received his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1980, completing a general surgery residency in 1985 and a thoracic cardiovascular residency in 1987 at the University of Rochester Medical Center. His work, primarily focused within the Division of Thoracic Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia, demonstrates durable benefits of LVRS for patients with severe emphysema. Dr. Ginsburg is also a principal co-investigator in numerous clinical trials and has authored many publications in prestigious journals including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Annals of Thoracic Surgery, and the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation. His expertise includes various thoracic surgical techniques and he is a member of several professional societies, highlighting his commitment to advancing the field of thoracic surgery.
