Biography

Mark Glazebrook is a Professor in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at Dalhousie University and is also cross-appointed to the School of Biomedical Engineering. He completed his medical training in 1994 and subsequently specialized in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1999. He undertook a fellowship in Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Sports Medicine at the University of Western Ontario and later earned a PhD focused on Achilles Tendon Disease from Dalhousie University. Dr. Glazebrook dedicates 80% of his working time to clinical practice, primarily dealing with Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Reconstruction and Sports Medicine. His research interests concentrate on outcome studies within Evidence-Based Medicine, including Ankle Arthritis, MTP Arthritis, Ankle Instability, Bone Graft Substitutes, and care for Achilles tendon ruptures. He has served as the past President of the Canadian Orthopedic Association and is a recognized speaker internationally, having delivered over 348 guest lectures across various countries. Dr. Glazebrook has published extensively, contributing to 127 peer-reviewed papers and editing a textbook. He has also successfully supervised numerous fellows and master's students.
