Biography

Mark Hamilton received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in 1979 and his medical degree from McGill University in 1983. He completed a one-year internship at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver and his neurosurgery residency in Calgary in 1991. Upon returning to Calgary, Dr. Hamilton joined the Faculty after completing his fellowships — one at the University of Calgary in the Laboratory in 1992, and the other at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ in Clinical practice in 1994. His research interests focus on hydrocephalus, neuroendoscopy, neuro-oncology, and venous thromboembolism. Clinically, Dr. Hamilton specializes in pediatric neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, hydrocephalus, neuroendoscopy, and Chiari Malformation.
