Biography

Mark A. Helper is a Distinguished Senior Lecturer Emeritus in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin's Jackson School of Geosciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.S. in Geology from the University of Illinois. Additionally, Helper plays a vital role in NASA's astronaut training programs, co-leading initiatives for teaching geological fieldwork and curriculum development aimed at preparing astronauts for future lunar and Martian explorations.
