Mark Hill has been the Head of Radiation Biophysics at the Oxford Institute of Radiation Oncology in the Department of Oncology since 2008, after moving his research group from the MRC Radiation Genome Stability Unit. He has approximately 36 years of experience in the field of radiation biology and physics and has authored around 120 peer-reviewed publications. He completed his MSc in Radiation Physics at St Bart’s Medical College and his PhD at Queen Mary Westfield College, University of London, before joining the MRC Unit in 1994. Hill has also served as Course Director and Chair of Examiners in his department and is involved in teaching at the Annual Radiological Protection Summer School held at the University of Cambridge. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine and the Society of Radiological Protection, and holds honorary membership with the Royal College of Radiologists. He currently serves on multiple national and international committees and working groups for various organizations, providing expertise in the realm of ionizing radiation and its effects.
