Biography

I am Professor of Practice at the School of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow, which means I work in industry rather than being a full-time academic member of staff. I work part-time at the University. I am also Chief Entrepreneurial Advisor to the Scottish Government and a Senior Enterprise Fellow at the University of Strathclyde. In addition, I consult for start-ups and scale-ups both in the UK and internationally and train executives. With over 30 years of senior executive leadership experience in the internet technology industry sector, primarily with start-ups and scale-ups, I have played a key role in the success of multiple start-ups. One of my notable roles was as COO of Skyscanner, one of Europe's most successful technology companies, where I was responsible for general management during the business's high-growth phase.
