Dr. Mark Mccareins

Biography

Mark McCareins is a Clinical Professor at the Kellogg School of Management, where he specializes in Business Law and Antitrust. With over thirty years of teaching experience at Kellogg, Mark instructs in various subjects, including Antitrust Law and Business Law. In addition to his academic role, Mark is also a highly experienced legal practitioner, having served as a senior partner at Winston & Strawn LLP for thirty-three years, where he focused on antitrust, intellectual property, and unfair competition issues. His accolades include being ranked as one of the leading antitrust litigation lawyers in Illinois and globally. Mark has received several awards for his teaching and contributions to the legal field, including the Student Impact Award at Kellogg and recognition as a distinguished alumnus from both Northwestern University and Washington University. He currently holds the position of General Counsel for the Metals Service Center Institute and is actively involved in various professional and community organizations. His extensive background encompasses leadership roles within the American Bar Association and contributions to national discussions on antitrust issues. Mark's research interests lie primarily in antitrust law, competition strategies, and intellectual property, and he has authored numerous articles on these subjects.
