Biography

Mark L. Palmeri received his B.S. degree in Biomedical Electrical Engineering from Duke University in 2000. He was a James B. Duke graduate fellow and earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University in 2005. In 2007, he received his M.D. from the Duke University School of Medicine. Currently, he serves as a Professor of Practice in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and holds an assistant research professorship in Anesthesiology at Duke University. His work includes being an associate editor for 'Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology' and he is a member of the RSNA Quantitative Imaging Biomarker Alliance committee, focusing on ultrasound shear wave speed imaging. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics, specifically acoustic radiation force shear wave elasticity imaging, ultrasonic imaging, finite element analysis, medical image processing, and deep learning for medical instrumentation design.
