Biography

Mark E. Peecher is a professor of accountancy at the University of Illinois, where he also holds the title of Deloitte Professor. He is an executive associate dean in the College of Business and teaches both undergraduate and doctoral courses focused on auditing. Mark specializes in behavioral auditing and has conducted extensive research in the field of accounting. He has earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in accountancy from the University of Illinois. Prior to his current role, he was a faculty member at the University of Washington. His writings have been featured in prominent business publications such as the Wall Street Journal, as well as in leading scholarly journals like Accounting, Organizations & Society and Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory. Mark has presented his research at numerous conferences and served on editorial boards for various accounting journals. He is passionate about mentoring doctoral students, having received awards for outstanding doctoral dissertation guidance.
