Dr. Mark Popofsky

Biography

Mark Popofsky is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and serves as the Chair of the Antitrust Group at Ropes & Gray LLP. He has held various academic positions, including serving as an Adjunct Professor of Advanced Antitrust Law at Georgetown University Law Center and a Lecturer at Harvard Law School. Prior to his teaching career, Mark was Senior Counsel with the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, where he participated in significant legal cases, including the landmark United States v. Microsoft Corp. He has also worked as a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia. Today, he represents Google in its ongoing monopolization case. Mark has received numerous awards for his work, and his scholarly efforts focus on the intersection of exclusionary conduct and antitrust law, with notable publications on monopolization doctrine and the Sherman Act's jurisdictional reach. He holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an A.B. from Brown University in History and Economics.
