Biography

Mark Schroeder is a Professor of Philosophy at the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. He specializes in the fields of rationality, reasons, and normative categories as they relate to the physical world. His notable works include 'Noncognitivism in Ethics,' 'Evaluating a Semantic Program for Expressivism,' and 'Slaves to Our Passions.' He has published extensively in philosophical journals, tackling subjects such as hybrid expressivism, agent neutrality, and the implications of normative language. Throughout his career, he has contributed to important discussions regarding the intersection of ethics and philosophy, emphasizing the relationship between normative sentences and factual statements.
