Biography

Mark Sephton is a Professor of Organic Geochemistry in the Department of Earth Science and Engineering at Imperial College London. His research and teaching focus on Astrobiology, Space Missions, Meteorites, and Earth Systems Environmental Science. He has been involved in analytical advances in space research, contributing to a variety of terrestrial applications. With a career spanning decades, he has participated in the planning and execution of numerous space missions and has published over 300 scientific articles in reputable journals. Sephton's leadership roles include being the former Head of the Department of Earth Science Engineering and Director of the Imperial Space Lab.
