Biography

Mark N. Templeton is a Clinical Professor of Law at the University of Chicago Law School, where he also serves as the Director of the Abrams Environmental Law Clinic. He has significant experience in environmental law, governance, and public policy. Prior to his appointment at the University of Chicago, Professor Templeton held various critical roles, including Executive Director of the $20 billion Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Trust, and served as Director of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Active in several boards and committees, including the Environmental Law Institute and the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, Professor Templeton is committed to legal education and public interest law.
