Biography

Mark Ward studied Medicine at Monash University, graduating in 2004. He completed his physician gastroenterology training at Alfred Hospital, Eastern Health, and undertook an advanced clinical fellowship at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, gaining expertise in inflammatory bowel disease and endoscopy. He was awarded a further degree, Doctor of Medicine, by Monash University in 2017 for his research focused on improving patient outcomes in inflammatory bowel disease. He currently serves on the Australian Inflammatory Bowel Disease Association Committee. Mark advocates for a multi-disciplinary approach to gastrointestinal disorders, recognizing the importance of dietary and psychological therapies. He is committed to providing patient-centered care and values communication with patients and their families.
