Biography

Markus H. Flierl is an Associate Professor at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology's School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Stockholm. He received his Ph.D. degree in engineering from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany. Prior to his current position, he was a senior researcher at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, where he headed a research group at the Max Planck Center for Visual Computing Communication. He has also served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Stanford University in California. Dr. Flierl has been recognized with the SPIE VCIP Young Investigator Award in 2007 and has taken on the role of Program Director for the EIT Digital Master School program in Visual Computing Communication. His editorial contributions include serving as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology. Flierl is also the author of the book 'Video Coding Superimposed Motion-Compensated Signals: Applications H.264.'
