Biography

Marleen de Bruijne is a Professor of Medical Image Analysis at the University of Copenhagen and has a rich academic background in Physics and Medical Imaging. She received her MSc in Physics in 1997 and completed her PhD in Medical Imaging in 2003 from Utrecht University, Netherlands. Prior to her current position, she served as an Assistant Professor and later an Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen. Marleen has authored and co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and holds seven patents. She has received several prestigious awards including NWO-VENI, NWO-VIDI, NWO-VICI, and DFF-YDUN. In her role, she has supervised around 30 PhD students and holds significant involvement in various international conference committees. She is particularly focused on applications of machine learning in quantitative image analysis and computer-aided diagnosis.
