Dr. Marleen Huysman

Biography

Marleen Huysman is a Full Professor at the KIN Center for Digital Innovation at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She studied Sociology at Erasmus University Rotterdam and earned her PhD in Business Economics, focusing on Organizational Learning at VU University. Marleen has held various academic positions including Assistant Professor at the Department of Work and Organizational Psychology at TU Delft and Associate Professor in Business Administration at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She conducts research that spans multiple fields, primarily focusing on the development and use of digital innovation and its impact on work practices, technology usage, and knowledge sharing. Marleen's research has been extensively published in international journals and she is a frequent speaker at academic and professional meetings. Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Digital Innovation, New Ways of Working, and Organizations. She teaches in various programs at VU including the Honours programme and the Digital Innovation research master. Marleen is also involved in projects studying the effects of Generative AI on knowledge work and management organizations, and has been recognized with several grants and awards for her contributions to the field.
