Marlow Cramwinckel is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University specializing in Earth System Climate Sciences. His research primarily focuses on understanding Earth system feedback dynamics, employing case studies of past climates to gain insights into present and future climate scenarios. He is particularly interested in the (marine) carbon cycle and hydrological cycle, as well as the interactions between these components and climate. One of his key research interests is the Eocene epoch, a period of Earth's history characterized by hot climate conditions approximately 56 to 34 million years ago. Marlow is currently undertaking a project that investigates carbon cycle tipping points during past hothouse periods to better comprehend future climate trajectories. This work is supported by a personal grant from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO-VENI).
