Biography

Marta Boni is a professor in the Department of Art History, Cinema, and Audiovisual Media at the Université de Montréal. Her research focuses on television series in the era of digital platforms, approached from cultural studies and queer studies perspectives. She has edited works such as 'World Building: Transmedia, Fans, Industries' (Amsterdam University Press, 2017) and has recently published 'Perdre pied: The Principle of Uncertainty in Series' (Presses universitaires François-Rabelais, 2023). Boni completed her doctoral thesis at Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3 and conducted postdoctoral research at Concordia University (Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema) and the University of Bologna, also teaching at Sorbonne Nouvelle and Jean Moulin Lyon 3. She founded Labo Télé, a research group on television in the digital age, and is a member of numerous editorial boards and research centers, collaborating on various projects addressing the intersection of media and identity.
