Biography

Marta Coelho is an Associate Fellow at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, specializing in Negotiation and Influence within the field of Behavioural Economics. She holds a BSc and MSc in Economics and a PhD in Behavioural Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Throughout her career, Marta has balanced her academic pursuits with consulting engagements, contributing to both teaching and research that draws on central themes of Behavioural Economics. She has led the Negotiation course at the London School of Economics for many years and is also involved in the Customized Negotiation Programme at Oxford. Marta's research focuses on the implications of over-optimism and over-confidence in economic decision-making, greatly informed by the works of Nobel Prize winner Daniel Kahneman. In addition to her teaching and research roles, Marta provides consulting services as an executive coach, with past clients including the Portuguese pharmaceutical industry and various public authorities. She serves as a Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors for an international group in the cork industry and is also the Chairwoman of the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) committee, in addition to being a member of the Audit Committee.
