Biography

Marta Losada is a Professor of Physics and serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Global Research and Senior Vice Provost for Research at New York University Abu Dhabi. She specializes in high energy particle physics and has a robust academic background, including a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Physics from the National University of Colombia, and a PhD in Physics from Rutgers University in the United States. From 1997 to 1999, Marta was a postdoctoral fellow at CERN. Prior to her current role, she served as the President of Universidad Antonio Nariño in Colombia from 2010 to 2018, and held various research leadership positions including Director of the Basic and Applied Science Research Center. She is an active principal investigator on numerous projects related to elementary particle phenomenology and cosmology, and has been involved in several international projects such as the ATLAS and DUNE experiments. Additionally, Marta is committed to higher education research policy, having held various roles in this area within the Colombian Ministry of Education and international committees. In recognition of her contributions, she has been elected to the Colombian Academy of Sciences.
