Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Marta Yebra. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Marta Yebra is a Professor of Environmental Engineering at the Fenner School of Environment & Society and the School of Engineering at the Australian National University. She is the Director of the Bushfire Research Centre of Excellence, focused on protecting Australia from catastrophic bushfires. Her research employs remote sensing to manage fire risk and impacts at local, regional, and global scales. Prior to joining ANU, she held a position at the University of Alcala, participating in multidisciplinary projects assessing integrated fire risk factors and analyzing trends influenced by socio-economic changes and climate change. Marta has spent considerable time at prominent research institutions such as the University of California, Davis, and the National Institute of Agricultural Technology in Argentina. From 2010 to 2013, she was a postdoctoral fellow at CSIRO Land and Water, where she developed innovative methods to integrate satellite data with in-situ observations for modeling carbon-water coupling. Awarded the Max Day Environmental Science Fellowship by the Australian Academy of Science in 2017 and the CSIRO Pyne-Scott Career Award in 2013, she has presented at over 30 national and international conferences. Marta supervises graduate scholars on various wildland fire research topics and has taught numerous courses related to environmental sensing and modeling.
