Biography

Marte Otten is an Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam's Psychology Research Institute. After her time at Harvard, she received a Marie Curie fellowship to collaborate with Anil Seth at Sussex University, studying how social predictions shape perceptual processing. She has been featured in interviews with The Guardian and New Scientist discussing the influence of pre-existing social knowledge on basic cognitive processing. Otten also teaches courses on EEG and psycholinguistics at the master's and bachelor's levels, respectively, and developed a course introducing cognitive neuroscientific research methods.
