Biography

M. Meredith Masters is currently the Marc Laura Andreessen Medical Director for Disaster Relief at Stanford Health Care and a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. She oversees clinical operations related to disaster planning and response within the Stanford Medicine framework. Dr. Masters graduated from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, and completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Wisconsin. Following her residency, she completed a Fellowship in Emergency Medical Services and Disaster Medicine with the Fire Department of New York. Prior to joining the Emergency Medicine Faculty at Stanford, Dr. Masters served as the Medical Director for University Hospital EMS in Newark, NJ and was part of the Emergency Medicine Faculty at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Her clinical research interests center on disaster preparedness and mitigation, education in disaster medicine, and the ethical delivery of care during crises. Dr. Masters has received numerous honors, including Outstanding Educator Awards from the Stanford University Department of Emergency Medicine in 2021 and 2022, and has been actively involved in leadership roles within professional medical organizations.
