Biography

Martijn de Koning conducts anthropological research on Muslims in Europe, focusing on the racialization of Muslims and Islamophobia as well as Muslim activism. He has previously researched Salafism in the Netherlands and the involvement of Dutch foreign fighters in Syria. De Koning has published on topics related to militant activism among Muslims, the experiences of Moroccan-Dutch Muslim youth, and the impact of developments in Salafism in the Netherlands.
