Professor Dr. Martin Andresen

Biography

Martin Andresen is a professor in the School of Criminology at Simon Fraser University and an affiliated scholar at the Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy at George Mason University. He is a member of the Crime Place Working Group and the Space, Place, Crime Working Group within the European Society of Criminology. Andresen serves on the editorial boards of multiple journals including the Journal of Criminal Justice and the Canadian Journal of Criminology and Criminal Justice. His research focuses on spatial crime analysis, crime places, and applied spatial statistics. He has published five books, three edited volumes, and over 150 refereed journal articles. His academic interests revolve around understanding the geography of crime and the interaction between societal factors and crime patterns, frequently employing geographical information analysis in his work.
