Dr. Martin Antony

Biography

Martin M. Antony is a distinguished professor in the Department of Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University and also holds a position in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He is a clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University. He previously led the Anxiety Treatment Research Clinic and served as the provincial clinical lead for the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program. Dr. Antony has authored 34 books and published over 300 scientific articles and chapters, focusing on cognitive behavior therapy and anxiety-related disorders. His research interests include understanding and treating various anxiety disorders, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and specific phobias. He has delivered over 500 presentations across four continents and has been featured in numerous media outlets, including CBC, CNN, and The New York Times. Dr. Antony is a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, and he has held several leadership roles in professional organizations related to psychology and cognitive therapy.
