Biography

Martin Bilodeau obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Montreal in 1988 and pursued graduate studies at the same institution, obtaining a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science with a focus on Rehabilitation in 1993. He completed postdoctoral training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation from 1993 to 1995. Bilodeau began his academic career at the University of Iowa, where he served as an assistant professor from 1996 to 2002 and as an associate professor starting in 2004. He returned to Canada and has been a full professor at the University of Ottawa since April 2004. Bilodeau teaches in the Physiotherapy Program, and his research laboratory is located at the Bruyère Research Centre. His research primarily focuses on normal and pathological aging, muscle fatigue, and movement control.
