Biography

Martin Dahlqvist is an Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Design at Linköping University. His research focuses on using computer calculations and methodologies to predict and develop new materials that can potentially be synthesized. He aims to identify and understand the mechanisms that explain material stability. His academic career began at Lund University, where he earned a Master’s degree in Physical Chemistry. He then pursued PhD studies in Material Science, concentrating on thin film physics at Linköping University. Following his doctorate, he undertook postdoctoral research at the National University of Science and Technology in Moscow (MISiS), where he worked on materials theory at ETH Zürich, focused on magnetic materials. His current research projects involve the development of theoretical methods to identify the emergence of chemical ordering in solid solutions and the execution of high-performance computing on supercomputers for predicting new materials. Dahlqvist has principal responsibility for ensuring the availability of national supercomputing resources for large-scale projects in the Materials Design and Thin Film Physics divisions at the Institute of Technology at Linköping University.
