Biography

Martin Enilov joined Southampton Business School (SBS) in August 2022 and currently serves as a Lecturer in Banking Finance. He holds a PhD in Economics from Newcastle University and has a rich background, working in financial engineering industries for four years before transitioning to academia. His previous roles include Lecturer positions at Royal Holloway University of London, Queen Mary University of London, and Newcastle University, as well as Visiting Lecturer at City University of London and Portsmouth University. He is recognized by the Higher Education Academy as a Fellow and has been awarded the Newcastle Teaching Award in 2019. Martin actively engages in teaching a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including Statistical Methods in Finance and Financial Econometrics. His research delves into empirically oriented areas at the intersection of macroeconomics, focusing on commodity markets, international trade, development stock security markets, and digital currency trading. He is particularly interested in supervising PhD students in topics related to applied macroeconomics, corporate governance, mixed-frequency modelling, volatility modelling, and tourism economics.
