Dr. Martin Husovec

Biography

Martin Husovec is an Associate Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), specializing in Law. His research investigates innovation policy and digital liberties, with a particular focus on the regulation of online digital platforms, intellectual property, and freedom of expression. He is an expert in platform regulation and has contributed to the Digital Services Act, training professionals and civil servants across Europe. Husovec is the author of 'Principles of the Digital Services Act' published by Oxford University Press, which delves into the implications of this new regulatory framework on digital services in Europe. He has extensively published on topics related to injunctions in patent law and the accountability of online intermediaries. As the leader of the CJEU-ECtHR Intervention Clinic, he collaborates with students on technology-related cases and has filed numerous amicus curiae briefs in significant European Court of Human Rights decisions. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. from the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, where he focused on intermediate liability issues. Husovec is also the founder of the Platform Regulation Academy, dedicated to independent education in platform regulation.
