Martin Jakobsson is a Professor in Marine Geology and Geophysics at Stockholm University. He completed his PhD in 2000 and has since held a research scientist position at the Center for Coastal Ocean Mapping at the University of New Hampshire. In addition to his academic work, Martin has been elected to various scientific academies and has served in leadership roles, including as the Vice Chair of the UNESCO-IOC-IHO General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans. He is currently involved in the Seabed 2030 project, which aims to map the world's oceans by 2030.
