Biography

Martin Koebel is an Associate Professor at the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary. He obtained his MD from Friedrich Schiller University Jena in Germany in 1997 and later completed a pathology residency at Charité Hospital, Humboldt University Berlin in 2006. Following his residency, he worked as a research fellow in the Department of Pathology at the University of British Columbia in 2009. He has been a practicing pathologist at the University of Calgary since then. His primary research focuses on tissue-based diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers in ovarian and endometrial carcinomas. His research aims to develop application-oriented, refined biomarker-based classifications for these cancers, which will aid in the stratified management of patients based on reproducible molecular markers.
