Biography

Martin Gade Stisen is a PhD student and Physiotherapist at Aarhus University, specializing in rehabilitation treatment outcomes for patients undergoing revision total hip arthroplasty. His research focuses on optimizing rehabilitation interventions, patient experiences, and the use of opioids. He is currently involved in the Strong Hip Trial, which investigates the effects of a rehabilitation intervention focused on hip strength compared to standard municipal rehabilitation. This study includes collaboration with eight Danish hospitals and associated municipal rehabilitation centers. In addition to his research, Stisen teaches as a co-instructor for a PhD course in Basic Biostatistics and supervises MSc students. He holds a Master's degree from Aarhus University and a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from University College. Stisen's work also addresses issues of health inequity and socioeconomic status in relation to rehabilitation outcomes.
