Biography

Dr. Martin Thunemann joined the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Boston University in 2020. He received his PhD in Biochemistry from Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany. During his graduate studies, Dr. Thunemann gained extensive knowledge in molecular biology, cell culture, and cardiovascular physiology, including techniques like mouse transgenesis using the Cre/lox system. Following his PhD, he joined Dr. Devor's laboratory at the University of California San Diego as a postdoctoral fellow and Project Scientist, where he led multiple bioengineering efforts focused on multiphoton imaging and multiplexed electrophysiological recordings in awake behaving mice.
