Biography

Martin Törngren is a Professor in Embedded Control Systems at KTH Royal Institute of Technology's Mechatronics division. He has been in this role since 2002 and has a strong focus on Cyber-Physical Systems, architectural design, system safety, and model-based engineering. Törngren has authored and co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and is actively involved in developing graduate and continued education courses, as well as new master's programs. He has international experience, including a post-doc at the EU-Joint Research Centre and sabbaticals at UC Berkeley and Stevens Institute of Technology. In 1996, he co-founded Fengco Real-time Control AB, which specializes in advanced tools for developers of embedded control systems. Törngren's dedication to education has led him to supervise multiple PhD students and contribute significantly to the field of Mechatronics. He served as the Chairman of the Swedish real-time systems association from 1999 to 2004 and has coordinated several international research projects. Presently, he directs TECoSA, Sweden's national competence center for Trustworthy Edge Computing Systems Applications, and he is the principal initiator of the Innovative Centre for Embedded Systems at KTH, launched in 2008.
