Biography

Martin Wallmeier studied business administration at WWU Münster and graduated in 1992. He earned his doctorate from the University of Augsburg in 1997 with a dissertation focusing on return anomalies in stock markets. His habilitation at the same institution in 2002 addressed option prices and implicit price processes. Since October 2002, he has held the position of Professor of Financial Management Accounting at the University of Fribourg. In 2009, he was appointed to a W3 professorship in Corporate Finance at FU Berlin. Wallmeier has had significant research stays, acting as a Visiting Professor at the University of Dayton in Ohio and Université Laval in Québec. He has served in various internal university roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences from 2017 to 2020, and has been involved in numerous committees and positions. He has also contributed to several continuing education programs, including Executive MBA programs at the University of Augsburg and the Technical University of Munich. His research field focuses on empirical capital markets, asset management derivatives, structured financial products, risk assessment, investment behavior, and firm valuation.
