Biography

Martine-Emmanuelle Lapointe has been a professor at the Department of French Literatures since January 2008. She holds a Master's degree in French literature (1998) and a Doctorate in Quebec literature (2004) from the University of Montreal. After a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University focusing on contemporary Anglo-Quebec novels, she worked as an assistant professor at Simon Fraser University (2006-2007). She contributed to 'L’histoire de la littérature québécoise' and has published numerous articles and book chapters on the novel, essays, and critical discourse in Quebec. Her doctoral thesis, published in 2008, is titled 'Emblèmes d'une littérature'. She has co-directed several works such as 'Transmission et héritages de la littérature québécoise' and 'Je souviens, j'imagine', and is particularly interested in the relationships between history and memory in contemporary literary works.
