Marwa Chafii received her PhD degree in Electrical Engineering in 2016 and a Master's degree in Advanced Wireless Communication Systems from CentraleSupélec, France in 2013. She has held various research positions, including a visiting researcher at Poznan University of Technology in Poland, University of York in the UK, Yokohama National University in Japan, and University of Oxford in the UK from 2014 to 2016. In 2018, she joined the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, as a research group leader, and in 2019, she became an Associate Professor at ENSEA in France, where she held the Chair of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence for the CY Initiative. Since September 2021, she has been an Associate Professor at New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi, UAE. Her research interests are focused on advanced waveform design, machine learning for wireless communications, and indoor localization. Marwa has received a prize for her PhD work in France in the fields of Signal, Image & Vision and was nominated among the top 10 Rising Stars in Computer Networking Communications by N2Women in 2020. She served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Communications Letters from 2019 to 2021, receiving the Editor Award in 2020. Additionally, from 2018 to 2021, she took on the role of research lead for the Women AI organization and currently serves as vice-chair of the IEEE Communications Society's Education and Training Initiative on Machine Learning Communications.
