Biography

Marwan Albuhtori is an Assistant Professor at the University of Warwick, specializing in the study of cervical cancer, particularly its association with human papillomavirus (HPV) infections. His research focuses on the distribution of HPV variants among women with abnormal cytology and the potential link between these variants and the development of cervical cancer. Dr. Albuhtori's expertise lies in molecular biology techniques, including PCR, DNA sequencing, and bioinformatics analysis. He has also led teaching in medical diagnostics and molecular cell biology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, while mentoring students throughout their studies. Prior to joining Warwick University, he served as a Teaching Fellow and Research Fellow at Aberdeen and Leicester Universities, respectively, and was a senior lecturer at Damascus University. He holds a PhD in Molecular Virology from the University of Manchester and a BSc in Pharmacy from Damascus University.
