Biography

Mary Tate Bremigan is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair of Academic Programs in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University. With a Ph.D. in Zoology from Ohio State University, her research focuses on fisheries management, aquatic communities, food web dynamics, and fish recruitment. Dr. Bremigan's work collaborates closely with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) and other management agencies to successfully conduct research that informs decisions made by the Fisheries Division. Her research investigates the factors influencing fish reproductive dynamics and the impact of both natural and anthropogenic landscape features on lake fish assemblages. In addition to her research, she has participated in several committees within the Fisheries Division, contributing to the development of standard assessment activities for inland lakes and streams and reviewing fishing regulations. She teaches a variety of courses, including Introduction to Fisheries and Wildlife Ecology Management, Ecology, and Fisheries Management, and also leads a study abroad course in Systems Science in Antarctica.
