Biography

Mary Chapman is a Professor in the Department of English Language and Literatures at the University of British Columbia, specializing in American literature and transnational American Studies. Throughout her career, Chapman has received multiple fellowships and awards, including the Standard Research Grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Yasuo Sakibara Prize from the American Studies Association. An experienced administrator, she has played leadership roles at UBC and within national and international academic organizations.
