Biography

Mary Cheng is a Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto. With over 20 years of experience in practicing obstetrics and gynaecology, she holds a fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and is a member of the Hong Kong College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Dr. Cheng has been actively involved in clinical trials, particularly focusing on multi-centre randomized double-blinded studies concerning management of breech presentation at term. She has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and is proficient in performing hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgical procedures. As an Adjunct Lecturer, Dr. Cheng provides clinical surgical skills training to residents and medical students, also serving as an examiner for the undergraduate program in the Faculty of Medicine. Since 2006, she has been a Peer Assessor for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, evaluating the practices of obstetricians and gynaecologists within community and academic settings. Furthermore, she has contributed voluntarily to medical aid programs in countries such as China, Myanmar, and Cambodia since 1999.
