Biography

Mary Anne Fenton is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and the Clinical Director of Breast Medical Oncology at Rhode Island Hospital. She directs quality initiatives at the Lifespan Cancer Institute and holds an associate clinical professorship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Fenton is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She received her MD from the University of Connecticut Medical School and completed her fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Her research interests are centered on clinical trials with a focus on Breast Cancer, Survivorship, and Cancer Care quality and value delivery models. She co-chairs the Breast Cancer Committee at Clinicalpath, where she contributes to evidence-based oncology pathways. Dr. Fenton is also involved in clinical research with the Lifespan Brown University Oncology Group (BRUOG), focusing on improving cancer care for elderly patients and quality improvement in breast cancer care delivery. She has received several awards for her teaching and research efforts in medical education and oncology quality care initiatives.
