Biography

Mary Frank Fox is a Dean's Distinguished Professor at the Jimmy Rosalynn Carter School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on gender, science, and academia, particularly examining the roles of women and men in academic scientific organizations and occupations, and the implications for science and technology policy. She has published in over 60 scholarly journals and has contributed to various books and collections. As a principal investigator for Georgia Tech's NSF ADVANCE Institutional Transformation grant, Dr. Fox has been a pioneer in promoting inclusivity and equity in academia for over 20 years. She has received numerous awards including the Gender Equity Award from Georgia Tech and the Ivan Allen College Distinguished Research Award. Dr. Fox has been elected as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and has served on several advisory boards, focusing on issues concerning diversity and equity in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
