Biography

Mary K. Goldstein is a Professor of Health Policy at Stanford University and a courtesy Professor of Medicine. She serves as a core faculty member at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and the Stanford School of Medicine. Goldstein is also the Director of the Geriatrics Research Education Clinical Center (GRECC) at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, where she oversees several fellowship programs, including the Stanford/VA Palo Alto Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program. Her research focuses on the implementation of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, quality improvement, and the health preferences of older adults in the context of cost-effectiveness analysis. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and an MD from Columbia University, and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Duke University Medical Center.
