Biography

Mary Scott is a Research Fellow at the Paul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre at the University of Glasgow. With a focus on understanding chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML), she is involved in significant research including the identification of biomarkers predictive of tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) response in diagnostic samples from patients in chronic phase CML. Her work is supported by various grants, including a project funded by Tenovus Scotland aimed at functional molecular analysis of leukaemia stem cell sub-types over a period from 2024 to 2025. Additionally, she is investigating the modulation of H3K27 methylation to eradicate TKI-persistent CML stem cells, as part of her research funded by Blood Cancer UK from 2014 to 2017. Mary is dedicated to advancing the understanding of leukaemia through her research efforts and contributions to the scientific community.
