Maryam Kebbe received a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from the University of Ottawa and a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Alberta’s Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Kebbe is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick, where she teaches courses on Nutrition for Healthy Living, Exercise & Sport Nutrition, and Maternal & Child Health. Her research focuses on the interplay between nutrition, metabolism, and gut microbiome, particularly relating to obesity and diabetes from the earliest stages of life. She is dedicated to designing effective and sustainable family-centered interventions to promote healthy growth and break the intergenerational cycle of metabolic disease. Her current projects examine prenatal and postnatal factors that contribute to the intergenerational transmission of obesity and diabetes, and the effects of nutrition and physical activity on metabolic health during pregnancy and early life.
