Biography

Maryam Moshaver joined the Department of Music at the University of Alberta in 2005. Her research focuses on the intersections of music history, music theory, philosophy, and aesthetics. She explores interfaces between music and poetry, as well as phenomenology. Moshaver currently serves on the editorial board of Music Theory Spectrum. Her notable publications include "Telos Temporality: Phenomenology Experience Time Lewin's Study of Perception" in the Journal of the American Musicological Society, and articles discussing the poetics of music theory in relation to Rameau and Hauptmann.
